He was born in 1953 in the Poto-Poto district of Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. His real name is Aurélien Miatsonama. In 1974, together with his peers such as: Jean Baron, Pedro Wapechkado and Mav Cacharel, he formed the group Les Ndimbola Lokole. In 1986, Diblo Dibala and Mav Cacharel left for Europe to perfect their skills, and he founded the group Loketo. He then created soukous, of which he was proclaimed "king", hence the slogan "Aurlus Mabele is the new king of soukous". In a career spanning 25 years, he sold over 10 million albums worldwide, and helped make soukous known beyond the confines of the African continent. Suffering from the effects of a stroke for the past 5 years, he and his group Loketo organized successful concerts in the West Indies between May and June 2009. Accompanied by talented guitarists, he got the whole of Africa dancing to his typical soukous rhythms (Africa Mousso, La Femme ivoirienne, Embargo, Betty, Asta De, Evelyne, Loketo, etc.).
