The Weather Underground put together their shared passion for guitar-driven alternative rock n roll in the late 00's and very soon they put their minds in performing live as much as possible. Having Athens, Greece as a base of operations, a number of shows were scheduled, while the band put together the material for a debut album. “the sad story of…” as it came to be, was recorded in the early 10's at the Royal Alzheimer Hall studios in Thessaloniki, it was mixed and produced by Christos Charbilas and Titos Kargiotakis (Tripes, Xilina Spathia) and ultimately released in 2012. The band went on a hiatus from 2014 to 2016 as some members lived abroad during that time. Upon their return the band resumed and from 2017 on they were back in business composing their sophomore album and performing live in various Greek cities. Collaborating with their longtime sound engineer Charalambos Pitsinis at Urban Studios in Athens, “The Recurring Trip of…” album (Urban Sounds 005) was finally ready, featuring a rather unique artwork approach, brought together from different artists and painters. Keeping the element of aggressive, yet fragile alternative rock in tact, the band continues to explore expressive pathways, focusing on straightforward songwriting and persuasive delivery, producing 2 videos with the "Still Frames \ Animated Music” collective and being 100% ready to take 2023 head on in pursuing their artistic vision.
