Description:

"Yoghurt", the legendary band from Thessaloniki, which pioneered the d.i.y. movement from the early 80s until its dissolution, always playing a raw and soulful garage rock, with clear influences from the punk movement.

In October 1979, guitarist Thanasis Nikolaidis, from the Aiolos Band, met bassist Stelios Hatzipapas, from the Tenderfoots, and with the assistance of drummer Giotis Bangalas (ex Diavates, Etaireia Kallitehnon), they founded Yoghurt. In 1980, George Dimitriadis (ex GAB) joined the band and with this lineup the band began rehearsals, creating an explosive amalgam of raw and bright sound - thanks to its tube amplifiers, with fast speeds and a complete absence of effects. Their first occasional appearances at the Physics and Mathematics and Architecture Departments of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as at the open field of "ΧΑΝΘ", created a great sensation. George Dimitriadis left at the end of 1982, continuing for a short time with A la Carte and his place was taken by Spyros Mourelatos together with Rania Spyropoulou, while later they were replaced by the theatrical singer Panagiotis Papadopoulos. After the last one left, the band would be finalized as a trio and would begin to create its own repertoire, which they would present in concerts, while one of Yoghurt's last live performances would be recorded in 1986 in the short film "Thessaloniki Archive" by the artist and director Christos Kechagioglou, who would film the band in their live performance at the Up Tempo bar.

On 22/01/1987 at George Pentzikis' Studio Magnanimus, they decide to record their repertoire, consisting of 5 English-language songs performed by Thanasis Nikolaidis and 1 Greek-language song by Stelios Hatzipapas, produced by Harry Lombardi (with previous experience in Krokus, Swans productions), which is presented for the first time in this release along with 3 live recorded songs from 1985.
