Yong-Gwanglo Part Two continues Ki!'s eclectic musical journey, blending genres and influences from different times and places. The album opens with "Change My Mind," a blend of 80s cinematic pastiche, dream pop, and synthwave, featuring Camilla Florentz. Unlike the instrumental focus of Part One, several tracks on this album include vocals, such as "Non Stop Action," where rapper Al Agami adds a 90s East Coast hip hop vibe with unconventional instruments, and "Bright Side," a reflection on life featuring Carl Coleman. The album's global inspirations shine in tracks like "Kawkab el-Sharq," inspired by Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum, and "Tech’awetu," featuring the African krar. Ki! also revisits pop culture with a cover of the Knight Rider theme and conjures a 60s heist movie feel in "Manon." The closing track, "Troi Rekall," draws on retro-futuristic sci-fi, nodding to Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre, while reflecting Ki!’s Southeast Asian roots. Ki! is a multi-instrumentalist and producer whose music reflects his global influences. His background—born in Korea and raised in Denmark—is captured in the album’s title, Yong-Gwanglo, meaning "Melting Pot" in Korean, symbolizing the diverse blend of sounds that define his work.
