Singer/guitarist Manuel Bissig left behind much fallow land due to his departure during the pandemic, but the remaining Kurmann and Kink steadfastly continued plowing. Completed by Pablo Jucker, they immediately re-cultivated the field, cultivating jams into concrete songs, performing concerts, and burying themselves in the studio with Zeal & Ardor sound engineer Marc Obrist. On ‚Fruits,‘ the new Sons present their creative fruits, and the harvest is impressive: ranging from expansive doom storms to crisp three-minute tracks. From the first count, the thresher relentlessly moves across the cornfield. Guitar and vocals always act refreshingly and yet familiar at the same time, making everything somehow new and still as earthy and wildly untamed as before.
