SAJABB’s music doesn’t lend itself to literal description. Over the course of three albums, they’ve sounded like the compositional equivalent to button bashing at a run-down arcade, a soundtrack to Arthur Rimbaud’s The Drunken Boat and the musical manifestation of Ken Kesey’s The Magic Bus. The ingredients used on Sphere, their brand-new, fourth album, are drums, flutes, organs, synthesizers, voice and generous amounts of phase and distortion. With that in mind as our sonic foundation, what follows in this particular press release is a series of disjointed, stream-of-consciousness metaphors that attempt to convey the feeling of listening to Sphere. Sit down, strap in – we’re in for a ride that takes place in the mind.
