Hailing from Brisbane Australia’s underground DIY scene is the premier psychedelic outfit, Dreamtime. On their 2nd LP Sun, they add elements of Indian ragas and Tibetan mantras to the Turkish-style ‘70s Psych, Kraut and ‘60s garage they are known for. Following quickly on the heels of last year’s self-titled debut (also being reissued by Captcha/Cardinal Fuzz), Sun more than lives up to its predecessor’s promise. Sun was originally released on vinyl in Australia in 2013 and the inventory was quickly depleted, leaving nothing for listeners outside of Oz. This eagerly awaited reissue will address that deficit. Dreamtime have toured recently with Bardo Pond, Moon Duo, Kikagaku Moyo, Boris, Earth, Earthless, and King Gizzard. Last year they played the prestigious Austin Psych Fest. From what we gather, there will gas in the tank for years to come. The amazing lithographs of flora and fauna that enhance the visual experience of this album were made by Californian artist Meg Adamson. The heavyweight vinyl will be a purple/yellow vertigo swirl housed in an equally gorgeous 300g sleeve. Join us, won’t you? Imbibe the sonic flow that drips from Sun.
