Surrounded by Marc Ribot and Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), Hyperrêve digs a little deeper into the furrow of an elegant and inventive pop song. A rare beauty! Hyperrêve was revealed in 2023 with a first choral album, Nos absences futures (Médiapop records / Kuroneko), acclaimed by critics (Libération, Rolling Stone, Inrocks…), then a mini album, Delphine, arranged and produced by Bill Pritchard. The group merges with Samuel Lequette, of which he is the main creator and permanent musician. On this album Samuel Lequette surrounded himself with the musicians who have accompanied him since the beginning but also with Julien Noël (arranger and keyboardist for Dominique A) and Mirabelle Gilis (violinist and backing vocalist for Miossec) who brought the electronic textures, strings and choirs. Also among the guests: Lee Ranaldo (guitarist of Sonic Youth) and Marc Ribot (guitarist of Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Marianne Faithfull…). The production is by Yann Arnaud (Air, Camille, Dominique A, Stephan Eicher, Pomme, Syd Matters…). “A Single Sweet Morning” captures a moment of musical honesty and striking beauty that takes Hyperrêve’s work even further.
