Description:
Sound Effect Records presents Chapter 24 and "The Black Baron Strikes Back (Tin Invaders reloaded)"! Recorded live at "Monk", Larissa, in 2019, as part of their tour for the 31st anniversary of the release of their legendary album "Tin Invaders", "The Black Baron Strikes Back (Tin Invaders reloaded)" is the modern face of "Tin Invaders": the 3-4 minute minimal tracks have been transformed into long jams with "loose brakes", incorporating all the psych/prog influences that made "Tin Invaders" "different". A document for the friends of the group and a treat to all fans of the modern kraut-rock/space scene! "The Black Baron Strikes Back (Tin Invaders reloaded)" is released on May 16th, 2025, on limited edition vinyl (classic black and sea blue) and on a double digipack-CD along with, its "twin release", the reissue of "Tin Invaders".
“It is probably not the band’s job to assess the small, big or non-existent importance of Tin Invaders in the history of Greek rock and roll production. For us it is an album that we continue to be proud of with a special emotional value due to the fact that, after a series of home production cassettes, it marked our entry into the "normal" discography. When, in the autumn of '19, we started preparing the 31st anniversary concert of its first release (which was "extended" to a mini tour with four stops) we had practically not set ourselves some "specifications" on what we would end up playing on stage. We hadn't even discussed to what extent we would stick to the recordings of the tracks. Finally, it is certain that while we did not approach them with reverence, trying to faithfully reproduce their original orchestrations and performances, on the other hand we did not feel the need to "modernize" them trying to make them barely sound modern. In fact, we allowed our middle-aged selves to express themselves freely and as fully as possible using as a vehicle a material we had written when we were still very young. Three of the four concerts of the mini tour were recorded. We ended up handing over to our friend Manolis Angelakis the material from the concert in Monk, Larissa because it seemed to us the best of the three recorded both technically and as a general feeling.” (Chapter 24, February 2025)
