WILLOW combines the best alternative rock with melodic stoner rock. An outstanding album. WILLOW is not a concept album. However, a theme runs through the songs, which is also reflected in the magnificent artwork of the artist and wood sculptor Christoph Mencke, who is a friend of the band and who sensitively recorded the musicians' emotions and thoughts and incorporated them into his work, which is fragile on the one hand, but raw and brutal on the other: CRIMSON OAK sing about femininity, the proud and creative power inherent in it, the liberation from outdated norms and traditional values ​​- which are unfortunately still anchored in our seemingly modern society - the love and greatness that is inherent in it. But they also sing about the destructive elements to which everything feminine is exposed through misunderstood, "toxic" masculinity, social conventions and sometimes simply a lack of courage. No, WILLOW is certainly not a concept album; nor does it want to be understood as such. Nevertheless, the repeatedly cited "common thread" runs consistently through the album between the lines and musical notes, making it a homogeneous and highly varied experience.
